Make Them Count

How to Get the Most From the Free CAT Mocks and Sectionals

A small number of free tests is enough to start building a strong mock-analysis habit — provided every attempt is analysed properly. Here is a simple way to use them.

◎
Use your first mock as a diagnostic
Attempt the first full-length mock early, even if your syllabus is incomplete. Its job is to show you which of VARC, DILR and Quant needs the most work, not to produce a high score.
◆
Fix the weakest section with sectionals
Use the free sectional tests on the section your first mock exposed as weakest. Sectionals let you repeat a focused, timed attempt without sitting through a full exam.
◇
Keep an error log
After each test, note why you lost marks — concept gap, careless error, time pressure or poor question selection. Patterns in this log tell you what to revise.
⚡
Work on question selection and timing
CAT rewards choosing the right questions as much as solving them. Notice which questions you spent too long on, and which easy ones you skipped.
●
Attempt the second mock after revising
Take the second full-length mock only after you have revised from the first. Comparing the two attempts shows whether your preparation is actually improving.
Free vs Paid

Free CAT Mock Tests vs the Full CAT Test Series

The free tests are a starting point. When you are ready for sustained, exam-level practice, the paid CAT test series is built for that.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Free CAT Mock Tests

Are Thinkoraa CAT mock tests free?+
Some are. Thinkoraa offers 2 free full-length CAT mock tests and 6 free sectional tests. The rest of the CAT mock and sectional tests are part of the paid CAT test series and full-course programs.
How many free CAT mock tests can I attempt?+
You can attempt 2 free full-length CAT mock tests and 6 free sectional tests — 2 each for the three CAT sections: VARC, DILR and Quant.
Do I need to register to attempt the free CAT mock tests?+
Yes. Free tests are taken on the Thinkoraa student platform, so you need a free student account. Registering is free and does not require payment.
What is the difference between a full-length mock and a sectional test?+
A full-length mock covers all three CAT sections — VARC, DILR and Quant — and simulates the whole exam, which is a 120-minute test. A sectional test focuses on a single section so you can work on one area of weakness at a time.
Should I start with a full-length mock or a sectional test?+
Many aspirants start with a full-length mock as a diagnostic to see where they stand, then use sectional tests to fix the weakest section. If you have not yet covered the syllabus, begin with the sectional tests for the topics you have finished.
How are the free tests different from the paid CAT test series?+
The free tests let you experience Thinkoraa's test platform with 2 full-length mocks and 6 sectionals. The paid CAT test series offers many more full-length mocks, sectional tests and chapter tests, plus rank and percentile analysis. See the CAT test-series section on the CAT page for exactly what is included.
What is the CAT marking scheme?+
Each correct answer gets +3 marks and each incorrect MCQ answer loses 1 mark. TITA (Type In The Answer) questions carry no negative marking, whether right or wrong. The CAT pattern has 68 questions for 204 marks.
Who is eligible for CAT?+
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC, ST and PwD) from a recognised university. There is no age limit, and final-year students can apply provisionally.
How many times can I attempt CAT?+
There is no cap on the number of CAT attempts and no minimum or maximum age, so you can retake the exam in later years if you do not get the result you want.
Is this the same as the CAT Daily Quiz?+
No. The CAT Daily Quiz is a short daily practice set, while mock tests and sectional tests are longer, timed tests. Both are available on Thinkoraa and they work well together.
How many CAT mock tests should I take before the exam?+
There is no fixed number that suits everyone. What matters most is analysing every attempt — reviewing mistakes, tracking weak topics and revising before the next mock. Use the free tests to start that habit and add more as your preparation progresses.
Where can I see the CAT syllabus and exam pattern?+
The complete CAT syllabus, exam pattern, eligibility and dates are on the CAT 2026 guide at thinkoraa.in/mba/cat.
How do I get access to the full CAT test series?+
See the CAT test-series section on the CAT 2026 guide for the available plans, or share your details in the form on this page and a Thinkoraa mentor will contact you on WhatsApp.
